and how it all began....
I'm Gosia, and most of all, I'm a mum of three children. Some Kingstonians may remember me from #thetanningshopkingston , which I was running for about 8 years, but that was ages ago!
Having three children, I decided to focus on them in their crucial years, and run a childminding business alongside looking after my own. I love this job! Being able to nurture and have a positive impact on children's lives brings me immense satisfaction. However, there was one moment that sparked a new business idea in my head.
My thoughtful husband gifted me a float session for my birthday. He knew how much I was in need of relaxation in a quiet space, as my job involves a lot of noise from a large group of children. I guess most teachers and childcare workers can relate!
My first floatation was pure bliss! At first, I couldn't fully relax, as I was too excited by the new experience. I spent time taking selfies in the colourful lights from the pod 😂. Then I started to feel a little bored and wondered how I would last for the entire hour doing nothing 😂, but after a while, I decided to really try to relax and embrace the peace and quiet. And that's when it happened - I felt an incredible sense of relaxation wash over me. I couldn't believe how peaceful I felt! That was exactly what I needed without realising it before.
After that initial experience, I continued to use floatation therapy and found myself feeling even more relaxed with each session. Unfortunately, there were no float spas in my area, which sparked the idea in my head to open my own floatation centre one day.
Since I lost a very valuable team member, I decided that it was the best time to scale down my childminding business and to start working on my dream.
It's very stressful to invest in a totally new business with services that aren't so widely known yet. However, I'm very excited at the prospect of bringing a sanctuary to enhance the mental and physical health amidst stresses of everyday life to a local community! 🥰
