IMPORTANT UPDATE - CLOSURE OF BLISSFUL FLOAT SPA
After much thought, I've made the incredibly difficult decision to close Blissful Float Spa in Kingston upon Thames in February 2027.
Closing down has not been an easy decision. I poured my heart, time, energy, and savings into creating a peaceful space where people could relax, recover, and take care of themselves.
Unfortunately, despite your incredible support, repeated visits, and amazing reviews, the financial reality of operating from our current premises in Kingston has made it impossible to continue.
The overheads are too high for a business like ours, and despite doing everything I could, the business could not become financially sustainable here.
As heart breaking as this decision is, I don't see it as the end of Blissful Float Spa. This experience has shown me is that there is demand for flotation therapy. There are people who understand its value and keep coming back because it genuinely improves their lives.
That's why I'm looking for the new premises, but at this stage I can't make promises about what the future will bring, so I feel it's only fair to be open about that.
Moving a flotation centre isn't as simple as finding another empty commercial unit and moving the tanks.
A suitable premises needs to meet very specific requirements, and converting it into a float spa requires a substantial investment.
The original fit-out of Blissful Float Spa required a significant investment, and all of my savings went into creating the current premises. Starting again would therefore be very difficult.
For that reason, there is currently no guarantee that Blissful Float Spa will reopen elsewhere.
The performance of the business between now and February 2027 will be an important part of determining whether it is financially realistic to make that investment again.
So, if you've never tried floating but have been curious, the coming months may be your last opportunity to experience it locally in South London for the foreseeable future.
And, if you've been meaning to use your remaining floats, vouchers or packages, this is the time to start planning those visits rather than leaving them until the end.
Some of you may also have noticed that we've recently reduced the validity period of our gift vouchers and packages.
We made this decision because we didn't feel it would be right to continue selling vouchers that suggest months of flexibility when we already know our time in Kingston is limited.
Instead, we'd much rather encourage everyone to enjoy their floats while they definitely can. If you've been thinking about using a voucher, package or booking "one day", please don't leave it too long. We'd love for everyone to experience everything they've paid for while we're still here.
Until our final day, we'll continue welcoming you with the same care, calm atmosphere and attention to detail that we've always been proud of; however the opening times might change due to reduced staffing.
