Did you find your 1st float less enjoyable than expected? Perhaps it was too boring for you to stay in the tank for an hour? Or maybe you liked it, but not enough to justify the high price of the float? That's totally normal and expected.
While many people experience physical benefits right away, the mental advantages of floating often unfold over time with repeated sessions. Achieving a deep meditative state can be challenging if you’re new to the experience. Most people report a significant shift after three sessions, as the true magic of floating unveils itself.
After your 1at float, you might feel relaxed, but that’s not necessarily the deep meditative state we often discuss. Some people even notice an increase in heart rate or blood pressure during their initial session due to the excitement or anxiety of the new experience. However, as they repeated floating, they found their heart rate and blood pressure lowering.
You can't decide that: "floating is not for me" if you floated only once. Some people take longer to acclimate to remaining still or floating in silence, but it does happen. If you’re used to being constantly active, stillness might feel unnatural. But as you adapt, you’ll come to cherish that quiet time for reflection and introspection, while your body releases endorphins, reduces cortisol, and helps regulate your nervous system.
