Floatation for teenagers

Floatation in sensory deprivation tanks is a Godsend for overstimulated teenagers.

Teenagers haven't had the chance to enjoy the world without continuous screen time and without being continuously entertained. These days, teenagers have very easy access to screen time and any other entertainment, or their schedules are so busy with plenty of extracurricular activities. They never had a chance to learn how to sit still and do nothing, with no music, no screens, and nothing else to entertain them, just be in silence with their own thoughts. This lifestyle affects their little brains. Children's brains are not designed to deal with so much sensory input. They get continuously overstimulated. This is one of the reasons we have a spike in mental illnesses, hyperactivity, depression, anger issues, and aggression in children and teenagers.

We all have seen videos of children's complete meltdowns after taking away their screen.

That's why I send my children to float regularly, to give them a little break from their screen that doesn't feel like a punishment, but like a pleasant, relaxing time for them. They have a chance to detox their little brains from all the sensory input and learn how to be mindful and meditate. They are much calmer and much better equipped to deal with stress.
